What does travel insurance actually cover?
Core cover includes emergency medical treatment and repatriation, trip cancellation and curtailment, lost or delayed baggage, and personal liability. Each policy page lists the exact limits and excess so you can compare like for like before you buy.
How much medical cover do I need?
For most trips we suggest at least £/$2 million in emergency medical cover, and more for the USA and Canada where treatment costs are very high. Filter by destination and Mosaferin shows policies with appropriate medical limits first.
Are pre-existing conditions covered?
Many insurers cover declared pre-existing medical conditions, sometimes for an added premium. Always declare your conditions during the quote, undeclared conditions can invalidate a claim. Policies that accept declarations are clearly marked.
Can I claim if I cancel my trip?
Yes, if you cancel for a covered reason such as illness, injury, bereavement or certain disruptions, cancellation cover reimburses your non-refundable costs up to the policy limit. Check each policy’s list of covered reasons before buying.
Does travel insurance cover COVID-19?
Most modern policies include COVID-related emergency medical cover and, on some plans, cancellation if you test positive before travel. Look for the “COVID cover” label on results and read the wording for exactly what’s included.
